Abstract

Inspired by the theory of Vigotsky (1978) in language learning, the purpose of the article is to report a young learner’s efforts in the learning activity and the experiences regarding the processes. Grounded in narrative research paradigms, this research documents the young learner’s opinions when she takes part in the learning activities, what she regards as joys and difficulties in the language inquiry process. The learner’s chance of choosing the material to be practiced, along with the dialogic talks are being used to reveal the evidence of both the learner’s difficulties and enthusiasm throughout the activities. The result of the research provides suggestions to the parents as the language caregiver of what to do and what should not do in a child language inquiry process.
