Abstract
The multiethnic, Sambau community’s speech accommodation in border areas describes language relationship accommodation from areas A, B, and C with respondent’s characteristics. This study aimed to describe the accommodation between respondents local language and two others ethnic language they considered important. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. This study uses purposive sampling by submitting list of questions to the 108 respondents. Degree of accommodation formed in range 0-1 (Sugiyono et al., 2011:64). As result, Sambau’s public utterances accommodation against A local language based on gender (male and female) is accommodative, while against local languages B and C is less accommodative.
