Abstract

ABSTRACT Afiati, Dania. 2017. “Maksim Sopan Santun dalam Iklan Tokyo Gas”. Thesis, department of Japanese Studies Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. The advisor Reny Wiyatasari, S.S M.Hum The main matter of this reaserch are : 1. What kind of maxim that obeyed by Tokyo Gas ads? 2. What kind of maxim that violated by Tokyo Gas ads? The purpose of this reaserch are : 1. To improve linguistics insight, especially in pragmatic’s scope which is the maxim of politeness. 2. To understand the used the maxim of politeness and it’s variaty that can be implemented in daily activities. The data are collected from Tokyo Gas ads. Method of data analysis used is padan ekstralingual. Data were analyzed by using complination theory of Searle and Iori as reference to analyze speech act meaning, and theory from Leech and Koizumi used to analyze about the maxim of politeness. Based from the result of reaserch show that the most appeared maxim is approbation maxim. This is because the conversation that occured in the Tokyo Gas ads are mostly take place in home used by the mother to her child, the father to his child, the husband to wife.
