Abstract
Applied translation provides a wide room of collaboration with other disciplines. Collaboration of translation study and literature study, especially teaterology, generating a new branch of applied translation study, namely theatrical translation study. Theatrical translation which emphasizes local language as the target language may contribute to the regional languages preservation. Local languages are forced to be able to express their artistic value works of a drama as the source text. This article tried to uncover the concept of 'Revival Linguistics' of Ghil'ad Zuckermann in Penginyongan language (Kebumen dialect) revitalization, especially in a theatrical translation work. The three concepts of language revitalization, namely hybridity, camouflage, and congruence are found in some drama translation dimensions covering speakability, performability, playtext, and gestic text.
