Perbedaan Nyeri Punggung dan Kualitas Tidur Pada Ibu Hamil yang Mengikuti dan Tidak Mengikuti Senam Hamil

Abstract

Some physical and psychological changes that caused discomfort in the pregnant women were back pain and sleep quality disorders. These problems, if not overcome appropriately, would cause bad effects for the mothers and their fetus. One activity that could be done to overcome these problems was pregnancy exercise. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences of the back pain and sleep quality in the pregnant women who attended and did not attended the pregnancy exercise. This was a quantitative research with comparative descriptive research design. The sample used were 60 respondents consisting of 30 pregnant women who attended pregnancy exercise and 30 pregnant women who did not attend pregnancy exercise in the work area of Puskesmas Lamper Tengah. The sampling method used was consecutive sampling. The data were collected using questionnaire and the analysis technique used was Mann-Whitney test. The Mann-Whitney test for the back pain showed p-value of 0,000 (p <0,05), while the sleep quality resulted p-value of 0,035 (p <0,05), thus this indicated there was a difference of the back pain and sleep quality in the pregnant mothers attending and not attending the pregnancy exercise. It was suggested for the Puskesmas Lamper Tengah and pregnant women to add pregnancy exercise schedule to 3 to 4 times in a month and for the next studies to investigate other factors that might influence the back pain and sleep quality of the pregnant women who attended the pregnancy exercise.
