Abstract

ABSTRACT Mafaza, Ida. 2017. “Main Characters Politeness in Anime Kamisama Hajimemashita.” Thesis, department of Japanese Studies Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. First Advisor: Drs. Suharyo, M.Hum. Second Advisor: Reny Wiyatasari, S.S M.Hum. This research is about main characters politeness in Anime Kamisama Hajimemashita. The core problems in this research are: 1. How is the realization of the directive, commissive and expressive speech of the main character in the anime of Kamisama Hajimemashita? 2. How is the politeness of directive, commissive and expressive speech of the main character in the anime of Kamisama Hajimemashita? This research has two purposes: 1. Describing the realization of the directive, commissive and expressive speech of the main character in the anime of Kamisama Hajimemashita 2. Describe the politeness of the directive, commissive and expressive of the main character in the anime of Kamisama Hajimemashita. Data obtained from Anime Kamisama Hajimemashita. Data in the analysis are 64 data, in the form of 35 data of directive speech, 10 data of commissive speech and 19 data of expressive speech. From 64 datas above, 55 data was polite a speech, and 9 data was not a polite speech. Data collection technique was done by recording, listening and taking note. Data analysis method was padan extralingual method. The speech acts were analyzed using Harnish and Bach theory and the politeness were analyzed using Leech theory. Based on the speech research in Anime Kamisama Hajimemashita, the result obtained was that all commissive speech was a polite speech. This happened because the speaker gives advantage to the listener. While the less polite speech was found in the directive and expressive speech.
