Abstract

Patient safety is the prevention of errors and adverse effects to patients associated with health care. This study aims to determine the relationship of patient safety application's knowledge level with patient safety application's perception by nurse in dr. Soediran Mangoen Soemarso Wonogiri Public Hospital. This research is a descriptive research type of correlation of quantitative method with cross sectional research approach. Sampling method in this research is probability sampling with stratified random sampling with sample of 115 respondents. Data were taken with questionnaire instrument and analyzed with descriptive and correlational statistic. The results showed 114 respondents (99.1%) had a level of knowledge about the application of good patient safety and 1 respondent (0.9%) have sufficient level of knowledge. As for perception about patient safety application, 74 respondents (34%) have positive perception and 41 respondents (36%) have negative perception. Analysis of the data by the Spearman Rank test was obtained (ρ value) (0,180) > α (0.05) means that there is a no relationship between patient safety application's knowledge level with patient safety application's perception dr. Soediran Mangoen Soemarso Wonogiri Public Hospital. The results of this study are expected to describe what needs to be done to increase knowledge and perception of nurses the better to increase patient safety program in hospital.
