HUBUNGAN ANTARA NILAI VOLUME EKSPIRASI PAKSA DETIK PERTAMA DENGAN KUALITAS TIDUR PADA PASIEN DENGAN PENYAKIT PARU OBSTRUKTIF KRONIK (PPOK)

Abstract

Oxygenation and sleep are human basic needs that hold important role for quality of life on COPD patients. Breathing disturbance and bad quality of sleep lead to meaningful decreasement of life quality. Staging in COPD defined by FEV1 examination. The aim of this study was to find out the relation beetween forced expiratory volume on 1st second to sleep quality of COPD patients. The research design was correlational cross sectional analytic quantitative non-experimental approach. Purpossive sampling method were used with 98 participants of COPD patients in RSUD dr.Moewardi. Datas were collected using PSQI questionnaire. Result showed group with most respondents were at age of >65 years old, male, work as labourer, smoked for 16-20 years, also severe from COPD for 1-3 years. Most of the respondents has FEV1 value <50 % and showed bad quality of sleep. Statistical test results using alternative fisher exact test showed p = 0.056 >α (0.05) which means there was no relation beetween forced expiratory volume on 1st second to sleep quality. Patient with lower FEV1 were not defined for having bad quality of sleep and so on the contrary. Symptoms of FEV1 in each stage are not significantly related to sleep quality assessment. Next research are expected to discuss more about objective assessment of breathing problem while sleep in COPD patients.
