Abstract

Department of Nursing Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University June, 2017 ABSTRACT Alfi Sabella Rosyad Relationship between Work Family Conflict and Job Stress of Female Nurse in Inpatient Room, Intensive Care, and Emergency Room RSUD Tugurejo Semarang. xiv + 107 pages + 16 Tables + 2 Pictures + 13 Attachments A female nurse was a person who had multiple roles. Multiple roles conflict was occur when one of the role involved demands more time, effort and attention so other role become disrupted. Multiple role conflict was one of the working stressors for a working woman. A person who had two roles was prone to work stress because of the high intensity of multiple roles of a working woman can lead to a decrease in performance because working women were more likely to experience depression, increased physical complaints, low energy levels causing increased stress. This study aimed to determine the relationship between work family conflict and job stress of female nurse in inpatient room, intensive care, and emergency room RSUD Tugurejo Semarang. This was a quantitative non experimental correlations. Sampling technique used was propotional random sampling with 149 samples. The questionnaire used were Work Family Conflict questionnaire and American Institute of Stress (AIS) questionnaire. The result showed that 119 (79,9%) of fooemale nurse had low work family conflict, and 135 (90,6%) of female nurse had low job stress. Statistical test using Rank Spearman obtained p value 0,000 (p<0,05) with a correlation coefficient (+) 0,615. This indicated a positive relationship between work family conflict and job stress of female nurse in inpatient room, intensive care, and emergency room RSUD Tugurejo Semarang. Someone who had dual role must could to management of work family conflict that happened to them so not could to be triggers of job stress.
