Department of Nursing Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University June 2017 ABSTRACT Enggar Sena Kuncoro Aji The Relationship between Fatigue Level and Quality of Life among Elderly in Social Rehabilitation Centers in Semarang x + 60 pages + 2 figures +11 tables + 13 appendixes Aging process occurs in any individuals and causes some physical and mental changes, which results in the elderly to experience fatigue. Elderly social rehabilitation centers are developed to reduce the occurrence of fatigue among the elderly both physically and mentally so as to improve their quality of life. Therefore it is necessary to investigate the relationship between fatigue and the quality of life among the elderly in the social rehabilitation centers Pucang Gading Semarang. This study aimed to determine the relationship between fatigue and the quality of life among the elderly. This study employed a non-experimental research design with a descriptive correlation. The samples were 80 participants recruited by using a non-probability total sampling. The data were collected using the fatigue questionnaire of Subjective Symptom Test (SST) from IFRC and the WHO Quality Life. The results indicated that: (1) most of the elderly (n=74 (92.5%) ) suffered mild fatigue, (2) most of the elderly (n= 47 (58.8%)) had a moderate level of quality of life, and (3) there was a significant relationship between fatigue and the quality of life with a p-value of 0.033 <0.05 (5%). Based on the findings, it is suggested that the social rehabilitation centers continuously improve the quality of life by reducing the fatigue among the elderly by practicing the elderly gymnastics interventions for the physical fitness and spiritual activities to promote the elderly's mental health.
