Abstract
ABSTRACT Scholarship grantees (bidikmisi) are the students who get scholarship from the government. Stress can be experienced by all students during their study, especially for bidikmisi students because they have greater burden than those who do not get any. The purpose of this study is to describe the stress levels of bidikimisi students and identify the characteristics of the respondents toward the stress level. This is a descriptive study with survey approach and uses total sampling technique with 140 respondents from 4 different academic years in the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Diponegoro Semarang. The data were taken using DASS questionnaire and analyzed using spss16. The results of this study show that 67.1% (94) students have normal stress level, 29.1% (41) at light level, 2.9% (4) at medium level and 0.7% (1) students experience heavy stress level. Most of the students who experience stress are those from academic year 2015 (second year). It can be concluded that bidikmisi students mostly have normal stress level. This research also explains that there are still stressful bidikmisi students, as much as 32.9% (41 persons), so that further studies are needed to discuss stress handling done by them.
