Abstract
ABSTRACT Conference is a method of learning with a form of discussion group about the aspects of clinical practice. The conference is divided into 2 pre-conferences and post-conference. The conference has 3 stages of preparation, discussion and evaluation. The benefits of conference methods are improving critical thinking and clinical decision making. Conferences are conducted by students with both academic and clinical counselors. The purpose of this study is to know the description of the implementation of the method of conference by Student Profession Ners. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive research design and cross sectional approach. The sample was chosen using total sampling method as many as 85 students of Ners Profession class of 27 and 28 Department of Nursing Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The result of the research showed that the pre-conference application was 47 (55,3%) students did poorly and post conference implementation showed 49 (57,6%) students did well. The conclusion of this research is as much as 45 (52,9%) student do conference well, while 40 (47,1%) student make conference badly. It is expected that students can be active in the discussion phase so that they can improve critical thinking and clinical decision making.
