ABSTRACT Hartuti, Dwi. 2017. “Characteristics Of Main Character in Hashire Merosu Short Story by Dazai Osamu”. Thesis, Department of Japanese Studies Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. Advisor Budi Mulyadi, S.Pd., M.Hum. The Problem statements of this research are : 1.How’s the main character’s personality in Hashire Merosu Dazai Osamu short story 2. What factors effect the personality of the main character in the Hashire Merosu Dazai Osamu Short Story. The results show that the main character’s personality Melos, based on the personality structure that becomes the superior function (dominant)seen from the attitude of the soul is extroverted type, seen from the personality soul function of the melos is sensed type. While the personality of melos based on the sructure of unconciousnessthat is personal unconscious, melos personality is thingker and introvert. And to the collective unconscious of melos is intuition type. Keyword: Hashire Merosu, character’s, personality, psikoanalisis.
