Abstract

ABSTRAK Sungai Gelis merupakan sungai yang membelah di tengah Kabupaten Kudus yang aliran hulu dimulai dari desa Rahtawu Kecamatan Gebog hingga munuju hilir desa Jati Wetan. Sungai Gelis memiliki panjang 32 km dengan Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) sebesar 140,94 km2. Berbagai aktifitas masyarakat di wilayah DAS Gelis seperti aktifitas rumah tangga, pertanian dan industri yang menghasilkan air buangan limbah dikhawatirkan membuat kadar BOD dan fecal coliform di Sungai Gelis menjadi tinggi. Hal ini akan mempengaruhi kualitas air Sungai Gelis. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan untuk menghitung daya tampung beban pencemaran Sungai Gelis dengan Metode QUAL2E. Penelitian ini dengan mengambil sampel air Sungai Gelis yang dibagi dalam 4 segmen yaitu terdiri dari 5 titik pengambilan sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daya tampung Sungai Gelis terhadap beban pencemaran BOD dan fecal coliform secara keseluruhan tidak memenuhi baku mutu kelas I dan II. Beban pencemaran BOD tertinggi pada saat debit minimun yaitu sebesar 15,34 kg/hari dan pada saat debit maksimum yaitu sebesar 5.324,59 kg/hari. Sedangkan beban pencemaran fecal coliform pada saat debit minimum yaitu sebesar 1,69 x 1011 jumlah/hari dan pada saat debit maksimum yaitu sebesar 5,85 x 1031 jumlah/hari. Kata kunci: sungai Gelis, beban pencemaran, daya tampung, BOD, fecal coliform, QUAL2E ABSTRACT [Determination of Pollution Load of BOD and Fecal Coliform by QUAL2E (Case study : Gelis river, Kudus District, Central Java)]. Gelis river is located in the middle of Kabupaten Kudus which its upstream begins from Rahtawu Village, Kecamatan Gebog up towards the downstream of Jati Wetan village. Gelis river has a length of 32 km with watershed of 140.94 km2. Variety of society activities along DAS Gelis such as household activities, agriculture and industry that produces sewage, will increase BOD and Fecal coliform value in Gelis river. This will affect the water quality of Gelis river. Therefore, it’s necessary to do a research for the purpose of calculating the pollution load capacity in Gelis river with QUAL2E method. This study by taking water samples of Gelis river which divided into four segments and has five sampling points. The results shows that overall, the capacity of Gelis river against BOD and fecal coliform are higher than standards of class I and II. The highest pollutant loads of BOD at the time of minimum flow is 15,34 kg/day and the maximum flow is 5.324,59 kg/day. While fecal pollutant loads of fecal coliform at the thime of minimum flow is 1,69 x 1011/ 100 ml and at the time of maximum flow is 5,85 x 1013/ 100 ml.
