Abstract
This paper deals with socio-cultural and political loads embedded in the use of language in natural interactions. It argues that some critical thoughts proposed by some anthropo-linguists need to be seriously taken into accounts in the current studies of linguistics, especially of those related to language use and/or discourse. It also suggests that most linguists pay attention not only to the referential functions of language but also to the stylistic ones, which, according to Hymes, may reveal some complicated socio-cultural issues that language speakers have to struggle for socio-politically.
