Abstract

Language is one of the most significant factors of culture. Culture of an ethnic or society can be reflected and described from the use of their language. This fact causes to theabundant researches on language and culture. The use of language can not be independent fromsociety and/or social fact. Thus, language can reflect the condition of a community as well as itsculture. Samin community is a community which has unique traditions (including language). Iwas originally a community which has an effort to protect themselves and passively resist effortagainst Dutch colonialists. Samin community is spread out around Java island, from West JavaCentral Java, until East Java. This research is conducted with the purpose of investigating thelanguage used by Samin community. This research focuses on the lexical differences of thelanguage used by Samin community. The research also focuses on the importance of language inSamin‘s culture and Samin community. This research is descriptive qualitative one. It results onthe significant facts on Samin community, especially Samin‘s language. The research shows thathere is still a unique language used by Samin community and there is also an important facabout Samin language attitude which is very surprising compared to the nature of Samin‘sculture.
