Abstract
In designing this tool have dimensions digester include: tank diameter: 35 cm, height tank: 50 cm, plate thickness: 0.12 cm, Impeller diameter: 23.07 centimeters and stirrer speed: 2800 rpm to obtain a total volume of digester is 48 , 08 125 liters, if the volume of solution used was 80%, the volume was 38.465 liters. In lab testing digester design tool uses the raw material bagasse soda process using cooking time variables are: 90 minutes, and the temperature is: 1100C and 1000C and NaOH concentration of 20%. The test results include moisture content, ash content, levels of α cellulose in raw materials and pulp. Also the result of analysis on the pulp yield. At first variable using a temperature of 1000C with long cooking time of 90 minutes and the addition of NaOH with a concentration of 20% obtained water content of 32%, ash content of 30.5%, α cellulose content of 87% and a yield of 14.9%. The second variable using a temperature of 1100C with long cooking time of 90 minutes and the addition of NaOH with a concentration of 20% obtained water content of 31.5%, ash content of 36%, cellulose α levels of 96.3% and a yield of 15.72%. Factors - factors that affect the pulping process is temperature, cooking time and the concentration of ethanol used.
