Abstract

The success or failure of agriculture production is determined by the availability of water resource and the fertility of agriculture land owned by farmers. However,water resource has the tendency to be inadequatein supporting the need for irrigation espesially in dry season due to insufficient water structure condition of watershed. Moreover, erotion occursin rainy season, causing reduction in land fertility that will affect the agricultural production. The objective of this study is to imolement the SDP (SeDrainPond) technology as water and sediment containment to knowing on how much the production is, and the estimation of the sediment that is caught on the SDP (SeDrainPond) model. The results of SDP(SeDrainPond) implementation by Water Resource Management Agency of Central Java Province by taking sample of 100)a hundred units in watershed are 100 units, with diameter between1m –1.5mand 3meter in depth, resulting in containment volume between 234 m3to 529m3and predicted to catch sediments from 51 kg, to180 kg and116,38 kg to 407,33 kg. As the presence of SDP model, the griculture production (Corn) has an increasement of 6 kwintal per hectare) or the income is increase for Rp 1.350.000; and the agriculture production (Chili) increases for 2 (kwintal per hectare) or there is an increase of income as Rp 3.000.000. Thus, the implementationof the SDP model can support the yield of agriculture production and minimize the harvest failure.Such as in developing the food production system that focus on sources, institution and local culture; developing the efficiency of the food system; developing the tools and infrastructure of food production and also keeping and developing the productive land.
