Abstract
Plants Walnuts (Canarium indicum) is a plant that contains a lot of benefits which are as cosmetics, medicines, cooking oil and biodiesel. Utilization of a walnut in Indonesia is only used to decorate cakes. The focus of this research is studying the effect of heating and pressure on the character of the oil produced by the process of pressing with a hydraulic press. Heating is done with the oven at a temperature of 900C, 1000C and 1100C. Meanwhile, the pressure used in 1800 psia and 2000 psia. The results of this study heating temperature influence on canary seed oil produced. The temperature and the heating process to give effect to some of the analysis, namely: Yield 42.9% - 57.14%; Density from 0.902 to 0.906; Viscosity cp 180.29 - 184.41 cp; the value of the acid number 0.673 mg KOH / g sample - 1,122 mg KOH / g sample; saponification value of 107.84 mg KOH / g sample - 113.45 mg KOH / g sample; Peroxide Numbers 0.196 mEq / kg - 0,217 meq / kg, color from light yellow walnut oil. Keywords: Walnut (Canarium indicum), hydraulic press
