Hubungan antara Pengukuran Salinitas terhadap Kualitas Air Bersih Sungai Gambir, Semarang-Jawa Tengah dengan menggunakan Alat Hand Refractometer (The Relation of Salinity Measurement to Gambir River Pure Water Quality, Semarang-Central Java Using Hand Refractometer)

Abstract

Refractometer is an instrument using to measuring content/ concentration substances or dissolved substances. Example sugar (Brix), salt (Baume), protein, etc. The working principal of refractometer is using polycromatic light from lamp lighting to day light plate. Sample was used for practical work is water of Gambir river Semarang. In practical work is examining quality of water Gambir river as pure water. The examining includes are salinity, pH, temperature, and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids). In practical work is using different time taking variable which are in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Practical work is resulting different salinity and TDS. Salinity results are 0%, 0,1%, and 0,1%. And TDS results are 0,021 mg/ml, 0,037 mg/ml, and 0,061 mg/ml. Whereas sample had same pH and temperature is 6 and 29oC. Long time to time taking sample, which salinity and TDS more large results. Because water Gambir river in afternoon and evening has many to used, with the result that salinity and TDS in water Gambir river to increase. The things can give to results effect are cleanness of instrument practical work that caused to mistakes in practical work TDS and carefulness to read hand refractometer scale.
