Abstract

Heat Exchanger is the equipment that serves to change the temperature of a fluid. The process occurs by utilizing the process of heat transfer from the high temperature fluid to the low temperature fluid. Fouling Factor is the one of characteristic that must be fulfilled in the design of the heat exchanger. Fouling can occur by several things such as, sediment resulting from the flowing fluid and the corrosion of the apparatus due to the influence of the type of fluid flow. During a heat exchanger is operated, the effect of the impurities will happen. The occurrence of such fouling may disturb or affect the temperature of the fluid flow and can reduce or affect the overall heat transfer coefficient of the fluid.
