Abstract
ABSTRACT Lailanjani, Nisfah, 2017. “Analisis Kontrastif Proses Pembentukan Kata Ragam Bahasa Slang Jepang dan Indonesia”. Thesis, Department of Japanese Literature Faculty of Humanities Diponegoro University. Supervisor Elizabeth Ika Hesti A.N.R, S.Hum., M.Hum. Slang is a special and confidential social variation. It changes continuously because the confidential of the language. It is used by a certain group or people so no one can understand except the member of the group. This kind of social variation is commonly used by youth. That’s why many elders doesn’t know this language. Slang’s phenomenan occurred on many languages, including Japanese and Indonesian. The writer found that there are similarities between Japanese and Indonesian slang. It occurred especially on word formation and meaning change. This thesis has two purposes. First, is to analyze Japanese and Indonesian slang word formation and meaning change. Second, is to know the differences and the similarities between Japanese and Indonesian slang especially on word formation and meaning change. To gain the purposes, this thesis used contrastive analysis. Contrastive analysis is a contrast between the two languages to get the differences. From the differences, the writer could find the similarities. The results of this thesis are, Japanese slang has six kind of word formation. There are clipping, composition, affix, acronym and initial, blending and reduplication. Indonesian slang has three kind of word formation. There are acronym, absorption, and affix. For the meaning change, both Japanese and Indonesian slang have similarities in widening of meaning. The differences between word formation of Japanese and Indonesian slang are (1) Japanese slang clipped two words then combine it, but Indonesian slang just clipped one word. (2) Composition, prefix, suffix, blending, and reduplication only found in Japanese slang. (3) Indonesian acronym is more diverse. (4) Japanese slang absorption words pronunciation is little bit different. The similarities between Japanese and Indonesian slang are both have same word formation.
