ABSTRACT Rachmadini, Intan. 2017. “Tingkat Kecemasan Tokoh Igarashi Ganta dalam Anime Deadman Wonderland 「デッドマンワンダーランド」Episode 1-6 Karya Sutradara Kōichirō Hatsumi”. A thesis in partial fulfillment of the requirement for S-I Degree Japanese Department, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, Semarang. First Advisor Drs. Redyanto Noor, M.Hum. Second Yuliani Rahmah, S.Pd, M.Hum. This thesis examines the level of anxiety experienced by Igarashi Ganta in Deadman Wonderland directed by Koichiro Hatsumi. This research aims to explaining the elements of story structure builder and explaining the level of anxiety experienced by Igarashi Ganta. The theories used are the theory of the structure of fiction and theory of anxiety. The structure of fiction theory used to explain character and characterization, plot and ploting, as well as the setting, and anxiety theory is used to express the level of anxiety experienced by Igarashi Ganta. The results of the research of Deadman Wonderland episodes 1-6 showing that Igarashi Ganta suffered panic caused by the proces of light anxiety, moderate anxiety, severe anxiety, and panic. At the level of light anxiety, he tends to be alert, increased perceptions, curious, and able to overcome the problem. At the level of moderate anxiety, he tends to focus, aside other things, tremor, and have a selective attention. At the level of severe anxiety, he tends to be difficult to concentrate, hard speaking properly, and requires guidance from others in thinking. At the level of panic, he tends fear, loss of selfcontrol, and unable to think rationally. The cause of the anxiety levels predominantly by the conflict, while the threat and fear have an influence on the the level of anxiety experienced by Igarashi Ganta.
