ABSTRACT Susanti, Esa Ufi. 2017. “Alih Kode dan Campur Kode dalam Lirik Lagu Band Vamps (Kajian Sosiolinguistik)”. A Thesis, Department of Japanese Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. The thesis advisor Dra. Sri Puji Astuti, M.Pd., and Maharani Patria Ratna, S.S., M.Hum. This research discussed “Code Switching and Code Mixing in Lyric of Band Vamps Song”. The writer chose this tittle because code switching and code mixing are difficult to differentiate it. This research is to know the form and the causing factor of code switching and code mixing. The aims of this research are: 1. To explain the form of code switching and code mixing in lyric of band Vamps songs. 2. To explain the causing factor of code switching and code mixing in lyric of band Vamps songs. The first step of this research is listening band Vamps songs that have many lyrics of code switching and code mixing. After that, the data are analyzed by padan intralingual method. The last step is to report analysis result. The results of this research are: 1. the form of code switching is sentence form, and the causing factor of code switching are the speaker or the singer and to affirm the meaning. 2. the form of code mixing are word, phrase, clause, and baster form, and the causing factor of code mixing are informal situation, no appropriate Japanese expression, and to harmonize the sound of music.
