Abstract

ABSTRACT Aisyah Ni’mah. 2017. “Fukushima Akira’s Ego Defense Mechanisms in Dare mo Shiranai Movie (Psychoanalysis)”. Thesis, Department of Japanese, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, Semarang. The Advisor, Yuliani Rahmah, S.Pd., M. Hum. This research is about the psychology of the main character in Dare mo Shiranai Movie. The movie was published on 2004. The object of this research is Fukushima Akira as the main character. People in their lives would encounter conflicts, and everyone has a way to resolve it. The purpose of this research is to reveal the conflicts and the ego defense mechanisms of Fukushima Akira in Dare mo Shiranai movie. The method of data collection is library research. The theory that used in this research was psychoanalysis by Sigmund Freud. This research finds that Fukushima Akira as the main character has many conflicts that creates an anxiety problems. Fukushima Akira showes the ego defense mechanisms of repression, displacement, reaction formation, regression, aggression, and aphaty to cover his anxiety.
