GAMBARAN STRATEGI KOPING PADA KARYAWAN BAGIAN MANUFACTURING PT COCA COLA BOTTLING INDONESIA SEMARANG

Abstract

Coping strategy is an individual process of trying to manage stress with specific techniques. Stress at work experienced by employees becomes serious problems when it cannot be overcome due to inappropriate coping strategy. The aim of this study is to find out the description of coping strategy used by manufacturing employees of PT. Coca Cola Bottling Indonesia Semarang. This study was quantitative descriptive with cross sectional study design. A proportional random sampling method was conducted on 141 employees from various departments of production, maintenance and engineering, quality assurance, and inventory who had fulfilled exclusive and inclusive criteria. Data collection were carried out using Brief of COPE questionnaire. From this study, it was revealed that accumulation of coping strategy commonly used by the employees were adaptive problem focused coping (4.9874), adaptive emotion focused coping (4.7910), maladaptive problem focused coping (2.8510) and maladaptive emotion focused coping (2.9000).
