In line with the increasing of Salatiga people’s mobility, it’s necessary to provide comfortable public transportation. There are issues of public transportation includes, those are : smoothness of peoples mobility and accessibility public transportation/vehicle. The smoothness of mobility related with the captive passengers to the public transportation existence. The accessibility to the performance of transportation system in a whole, The more accessible, means better performance of the transportation system. Salatiga is located between Semarang and Surakarta, where an artery road network connecting the two centre development areas and it’s very strategic with very high traffic intensity. As a developing town since it’s potency in form of human resource is high with the present of some universities. Salatiga is driven to be an education town, sport, trading and also tourism transit. This is why it has very high economy intensity. For servicing Salatiga people’s mobility, it need the conformity transportation means. One of them is the public transportation (microlet and minibus). Transportation service in form of the public transportation in Salatiga including all routes to town centre as a final destination, since centre of city area is a centre for trading and service and also many government offices and others public buildings. Such condition is supported by the radial route network. This study is aimed to examine the performance of urban transportation and route network system in servicing people for their mobility, so it will find out the real work condition of the urban transportation at present. Then the urban transportation performance is analysed to find out whether urban transportation service in each route has good service or not. Based on data analysis using service standardization from Department of Transportation with 10 variables of evaluation, i.e : load factor peak, load factor off peak, velocity of trip, headway, time of trip, service time, frequency, quantity of vehicle in operation, waiting time and also start and ending service time, it is concluded that generally urban transportation performance is good. For analyzing the performance of route network, there coverage area, route directness, condition of public transportation route network, route overlapping and route network configuration, has a good performance. Meanwhile for the questionnaire output on bus, it is found that respondent opinion in access public transportation is easy, waiting time less than 20 minutes. Also based on home interview to respondent live in Tingkir Indah housing and PEPABRI, 98% of them said it’s necessary and very urgent to develop a route towards and pass their housing. With the good service above, it’s for increasing performance by repairing broken road and improving the obedience on traffic rules in order to create very satisfy service for every people: the user, operator and government side.
