ABSTRACT Tahta Alfina, Dinda. 2016. “Japanese Code Switching on Indonesian Popular Song”. Thesis, Department of Japanese Studies Faculty of Humanities Diponegoro University. The First Advisor Dr. M. Suryadi, M.Hum. Second Advisor Elizabeth IHANR, S.S., M.Hum. The Japanese code switching on Indonesian populer song is the main focus in this research. The research was purposed to find a reason why Japanese code switching was used on the Indonesian popular song, with the result that the writer can find conclution to describe about a lot of Indonesian people are learning Japanese language. This research aimed to describe Japanese code switching are used on the Indonesian songs, and causative factor of code switching of Indonesian popular songs. The writer analyze code switching data by using communication components Dell Hymes (1976) called SPEAKING acronym. The scope of the study is sociolinguistic and focused on one kind of sociolinguistic are code switching. Metods that researcher used has three step, which are collecting the data, analyzing and drawing conclusion. Based on the analysis was performed, the writer find out that five of the communication components by Hymes that affect the use of Japanese code switching on the Indonesian songs.Three factor that cause Japanese code switching are used on the Indonesian popular songare (1) to explain core songs, (2) speaker (O1), and (3) listener (O3).
