GAMBARAN KEBUTUHAN SPIRITUALITAS PASIEN GAGAL JANTUNG DI INSTALASI ELANG RSUP KARIADI SEMARANG

Abstract

Spiritual needs are basic needs needed by every human being. Spiritual fulfillment can improve the quality of life as well as patients with heart failure. Heart failure patients susceptible to spiritual distress of the condition of the disease due to the high risk of death and various symptom experienced. Therefore, the spiritual needs of patients with heart failure is very important to note. The aim to this study was describing spiritual needs of patients with heart failure in the Elang ward Kariadi Hospital Semarang. This research was a descriptive study with survey approach. 102 respondents as samples were taken using consecutive sampling technique, in Elang ward Kariadi Hospital. Data were taken using Spiritual Needs Questionnaire (SpNQ) and being analyzed by univariate analysis. The Results showed that the spiritual needs were very important (62.7%). Based on aspect of the spiritual needs, inner peace needs(62,7%), actively giving needs (58,8%), religiousity needs (56,9%), and the aspect of exiistential (42,2%). The conclusion of this study is the spiritual needs is a very important need for patients with heart failure. Conditions of pain in patients with heart failure caused an increased need for conditions of peace, love, religion and the existence of God. The results of this study can be used as input for nurses and hospitals to pay more attention to the spiritual needs of heart failure patients by providing nursing interventions and facility spiritual fulfillment.
