Abstract
Occasionally cancer and chemoteraphy are related to the changing of life’s quality. Chemoteraphy can be done for long period of time, so that it can affect the quality of life. The children quality of life have four domains, including physical function, emotional function, social function, and school function. All those domains have strong relation to the value of quality of life. The purpose of this study was to describe quality of life in children cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in Dr. Kariadi Hospital and Dr. Moewardi Hospital. This study was quantitative non-experiment with descriptive survey study design. Consecutive technique sampling was used to determine the sample of this research, and there were 93 respondents as sample. The data of this research was taken by using respondent characteristic and Pediatrics Quality of Life 4.0 Generic Core Scale. The results of this research showed that most of respondents had normal quality of life, as many as 51 respondents (54,8%). Based on the domain of quality of life, there was a domain that has a great risk to quality of life, that was physical function (52.7%). Relating to the quality of life the greatest number of risk was found in physical function domain, on the other that the greatest number of normal was found in social function domain. The researcher suggests to the hospital in order to built up a support group especially for children cancer patients so that it can be a way to exchange information and give support each other.
