Abstract

Background : Elderly experiencing degenerative processes with changes in urinary system. Urinary incontinence is a change in urination outside of awareness uncontrolled causing problems with cleanliness or social. Results of a preliminary study in April 2016 on the ground floor Geriatric Hospital Dr. Kariadi Semarang got 2 of 6 nurses provide nursing care according to Standard Operating Procedures. Objective : This study aimed to nurses Nursing experience in the form of assessment, implementation, evaluation and obstacles while performing nursing care in patients with urinary incontinence in a ground floor room Geriatric Hospital Dr. Kariadi Semarang. Methods : This research method is qualitative descriptive phenomenology explorative design with in-depth interviews for the data collection process. The sample in this study amounted to 8 informants by using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis using methods Collaizi. Results : Findings from this study, the 13 themes, namely: 1) the pattern of voiding, 2) history of the disease, 3) intake outputs, 4) the level of dependence, 5) laboratory examination, 6) self protection, 7) nursing practice, 8 ) an act of collaboration, 9) formative evaluation, 10) psychological patients, 11) limitations of the patients, 12) limitations of the family, 13) limited nurses. It was concluded that nurses experience in manangani urinary incontinence is very diverse and result in different responses that need to be observed by the elderly nursing care givers. Results are expected to gain a better understanding that the nurse is the executor Nursing and increase adaptive coping to maximize patient care so that the need to dig deeper into the factors inhibiting the provision of nursing care.
