Abstract

ABSTRACT Alexander, Feby. 2017. “Relation Meaning of Verb Tsukau, Mochiiru, and Riyousuru in Japanese Sentences”. Thesis, Departement of Japanese Studies Faculty of Humanities. Diponegoro University. The Advisor Elizabeth Ika Hesti, ANR, SS, M.Hum. This thesis discusses “Relation Meaning of Verb Tsukau, Mochiiru, and Riyousuru in Japanese Sentences”. The writer discussed the title for thesis because of the verb tsukau, mochiiru, and riyousuru has the similar meaningin Indonesian are ‘menggunakan or memakai’ so the writer do the research to find out how the similarities and the differences among those verbs. Furthermore, the writer tries to do a substitution analysis to find out the relation meaning of those verbs with substitute each other in sentences. The first step taken by the writer was collecting the data, analyzed data, then presented descriptively. The verb tsukau, mochiiru, and riyousuru has the similar meaning which it is to utilize thing or goods for one thing. The similarities of those verbs make it is interchangeable. It also means those verbs can categorize the relation meaning to be synonym. Furthermore, the differences meaning among the verbtsukau, mochiiru, and riyosuru make those verbs can not be substituted each other in sentences. Keywords: Verb, Tsukau, Mochiiru, Riyousuru, Synonym
