Abstract

Identification of resistance to drought some local rice cultivars has been carried out based on the carotenoid content, morphological and anatomical characters. The research objective was to identify potential local rice cultivars resistant or tolerant to drought. The method used was descriptive qualitative method of analysis, including exploration, collection, identification, and analysis of morphological and anatomical characters. Thirty-seven local rice cultivars have been used in this study. The results showed that more rice local cultivars from Central Java show tolerance to drought larger than the rice cultivars from other regions. Key words: rice, drought, carotenoid
