Abstract

ABSTRACT Fajrina, Luthfi Nur. 2016. “Analysis of the Structure and Meaning ofAdverb’s Tsune ni and Shijuu in Japanese Sentences”. Thesis, Department of Japanese Studies Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. AdvisorS.I Trahutami, S.S, M.Hum. The main matter of this research is : 1. What is the behavior of the structure and meaning of the adverb’s tsune ni and shijuu in Japanese sentences? 2. What are the differences and similarities of the adverb’s tsune ni and shijuu ? The purpose of this research is : 1. To know the structure and meaning of the adverb’s tsune ni and shijuu in Japanese sentence. 2. To know the differences and similarities of the adverb’s tsune ni and shijuu. The data was collected from the Asahi Shimbun Digital articles, the Yomiuri Shimbun Online articles, and the book of Watashi no Sutairu wo Sagashite. There is 38 data tokens in total. The author used 3 methods in this research. The data’s collecting was done with the simak method, used sadap technique and catat technique. Furthermore, the method of data analysis was agih method and usedthe ganti technique. Meanwhile, an informal method was used for presenting the results. The data was analyzed by using some compilation theory from Kyousuke, Chino, Hayashi, etc. The results of this research showed that the adverb’s tsune ni and shijuu have a similar meaning which to show some repeating the same thing. From a structural perspective, the adverb’s tsune ni and shijuu can be followed by verbs, nouns, adverbs and adjectives. But, the adverb’s tsune ni and shijuu aren’t always modifying the word that follows them. The adverb tsune ni’s frequency is lower than shijuu, less formal than shijuu, can be use to show a repeated event that occurred in the certain time or not, and can be use to communicate with children. Meanwhile, the adverb shijuu’s frequency is higher than tsune ni, more formal than tsune ni, it’s use is more to show a repeated event that occurred in the certain time and can’t be use to communicate with children.
