Second Advisor S.I. Trahutami, M.Hum. This thesis describes the use of Japanese’s first, second, and third person pronouns based on social status in the anime Meitantei Conan episodes 711-715. The purpose of this research is to understand the use of first, second, and third person pronouns based on speaker’s social status in the anime. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The writer limited the analysis of this thesis into dialog containing first, second, and third person pronouns and analyzed it based on the social status. From the analysis of the data, it can be concluded that the use of personal pronouns in Japanese is affected by the level of intimacy/familiarity, age, social relationship, social status, gender, group, membership, condition and situation when diaolog occurs.
