Abstract
Ketergantungan masyarakat akan kebutuhan bahan bakar khususnya bensin turut mempengaruhi berkurangnya ketersediaan bahan bakar bensin di pasaran. Dengan adanya bahan bakar alternatif LPGmasyarakat akan lebih memilih menggunakan bahan bakar LPG dibandingkan dengan bensin, yang memiliki nilai kalori lebih besar dibandingkan dengan bensin yaitu sebesar 11220 kkal/Kg. Tujuan Pembuatan proyek akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui performa genset dengan menggunakan bahan bakar LPG, mengetahui BSFC (Break Spesifik Fuel Consumtion), membandingkan konsumsi bahan bakar bensin dengan gas, dan mengetahui efisiensi yang dihasilkan. Metode modifikasi pada mesin genset 1100 watt berbahan bakar bensin menjadi gas yaitu dengan cara mengganti komponen pada sistem bahan bakar mesin dengan konverter kit. Hasil pengujian pada mesin genset 1100W, BSFC bahan bakar bensinsebesar yakni 3,487 (Kg/kW.jam), efisiensi thermal efektif 35,70% dengan beban maksimal 870W dan tegangan diatas 200V, sementara BSFC bahan bakar gas sebesar 1,283 (Kg/kW.jam), efisiensi thermal efektif 29,886% dengan beban maksimal 392W dan tegangan diatas 200.Genset bahan bakar gas lebih hemat, namun dalam pembangkitan dayanya,genset dengan bahan bakar bensin lebih baik dibandingkan bahan bakar gas Kata kunci : Bahan Bakar, Beban, Konsumsi Bahan Bakar, BSFC, Efisiensi Thermal Dependence 'community will need for fuel, especially gasoline Also affecting the reduced availability of fuel gas in the market.
