Nosocomial infection is an infection which would be infected or happened in the hospital after the patient left the hospital and infection on hospital officials. Nosocomial infections in hospital should be prevented and controlled. On 2009, WHO declared My Five Moments for Hand Hygiene to control nosocomial infection. Yet, My Five Moments for Hand Hygiene practice on nurses are still low. One of its cause is workload. Workload is total amount of activities done by nurses on shifttime in hospital. The objective of research is to understand the relations of workload with five moments for hand hygiene nurses practice in dr.M.Ashari Pemalang Regional Public Hospital’s Inpatient Unit. The research is a quantitative non experimental with cross sectional research design. Data are analyzed with Pearson and Rank Spearman test. Based on Pearson test gained P=0,230 (α=0,05), it show that no correlation between workload and five 1st moments practice. Based on Rank Spearman test gained P=0,627, it show that no correlation between workload and 2nd moment practice. Based on Pearson test gained P=0,014, it show that the correlation between workload and 3rd moment practice, with negative correlation direction, so heavier the workload, 3rd moment practice would be less, P=0,784, it show that no correlation between workload and 4th moment practice and P=0,551, it show that no correlation between workloadand 5th moment practice. It is suggested for the hospital to increase the evaluational socialization regularly to control the practice of nurses hand hygiene.
