Abstract
The Research aims at knowing the difference in human information behaviour as related to their learning style between natural science and social science high school students. Using quantitive method with causal comparative type and MANOVA (Multivariant Analysis of Variance) statistical analysis, this research used questionnaire as data collecting tool. Respondents are selected through cluster random sampling, 25% from the population of 336 pupils of XI class at State Senior High School 6 (SMA Negeri 6) Semarang. In this research, human information behaviour had been observed from three different aspects, i.e. information needs, information activity that including information seeking behaviour and information searching behaviour, and also information use behaviour. Learning styles of the students are also observed by the dimension of cognitive style, which are the individual styles of processing the information, categorized into two style varieties, serial and holistic. The result shows, there is no significant difference between natural science and social science students, but there are differences in individual information searching behaviour appropriate with their characteristics in processing information which are implemented in their learning style.
