Abstract

School of Nursing Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University Agust, 2016 Atik Dina Nasekhah ABSTRACT Relation between Fatigue and Quality of Life in Patient of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 in Persadia Salatiga xvii + 87 Pages + 10 Tables + 2 Pictures + 17 Attachments Fatigue is experienced by the chronic patient and happen continuously. This condition becomes one of the complaints perceived by DM patients when doing their activities and enjoying their life. The individual satisfaction about their life can be seen from the quality status of life of the patients. The aim of this study is to know the relation between fatigue and quality of life in patient of diabetes mellitus type 2. This studied was a quantitative research with correlational descriptive design and used instruments in collect the data. The sampling used total sampling method with 40 samples of diabetes type 2 mellitus patients. About 62.5% of respondents showed high fatigue level and 55% of respondents showed worse quality of life. The result analysis used chi square test shows the p= 0,014 so there is a relation between fatigue and quality of life which is negative, this means respondents with higher level of fatigue would had more worse quality of life. Patients with diabetes mellitus are expected to conduct disease management to control blood sugar stable, and limit strenuous activities and contact health professionals if fatigue is felt increasingly intrusive in order to avoid high levels of fatigue in order to achieve optimal quality of life.
