Abstract
ABSTRACT Johanes. “The use and meaning adverbs of Zuibun, Kanari, and Kekkou in Japanese Sentences”. Thesis. Departement of Japanese Studies Faculty of Humanities. Diponegoro University. The First Advisor Reny Wiyatasari SS, M.Hum, The Second Advisor Maharani Patria Ratna, SS, M.Hum. The purpose of this research are to analyze the meaning and the use of zuibun, kanari and kekkou. Not only that, the research also aims to find out the relation between those adverbs whether they can substitute each other or not. After analyzing the adverbs zuibun, kanari and kekkou which were divided into two parts, the meaningof a circumstance which is above the average and a little above the average. Those three adverbs have different strength levels within a word. The adverbs zuibun has the highest level compared to the two others adverbs. Then adverbs kanari rank second in the stage making kekkou end up as the last. The adverbs zuibun, kanari and kekkou can be used both in spoken language and in written language, but in the implementation, create different nuances. Thus the three adverbs are interchangeable.
