METAFORA DAN PESAN MORAL DALAM TANKA KARYA TAWARA MACHI (KAJIAN STILISTIKA) 俵万智が書いたメタフォールと道徳伝言の短歌「文体論の学」

Abstract

ABSTRACT Prakoso, Guna Aditama. 2015. “Metaphores and Moral Messages of Tankas by Tawara Machi (The Stylistics Study)”. Thesis of Japanese Literature Department, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Preceptor I Nur Hastuti, S.S., M.Hum. Preceptor II Yuliani Rahmah S.Pd, M.Hum. The thesis aims to explain tankas’ metaphores and the moral messages behind them. Data used in the thesis are based on 10 tankas written by Tawara Machi from his anthology Salad Anniversary. Tawara Machi is one of famous ryhmester in Japan. Tawara’s tankas have slighter and universal language style, and easily conceived by most of readers. His inaugural tankas anthology was published in 1987 is Salad Anniversary. The anthology consists of 165 tankas was born from his full of vitality and honest daily life. The method used in this thesis is literatur review. Theories used in this thesis are metphore theory and stylistics theory. The thesis’ result shows that Tawara Machi made tankas by capturing his life journey, about happiness, love life, grief, suffering, sorrow, and his inner experience when facing life’s up and down plights which are explained through meaningful metaphores. Tawara also tucks moral messages in his each tanka. Keywords: tanka, metaphore, stylistics, moral messages.
