PERBEDAAN KESANTUNAN TUTURAN PRIA DAN WANITA DALAM RUBIK SURAT PEMBACA HARIAN SUARA MERDEKA TAHUN 2010/2011

Abstract

This thesis examines surat pembaca of Suara Merdeka daily newspaper in 2010/2011, written by common people both men and women. The reason to examine surat pembaca because the researcher is interested in finding the level of politeness as well as the speech act of both men and women. The researcher also eager to expose the speech politeness of men and women as well as comparing surat pembaca on Suara Merdeka daily newspaper in 2010/2011. The researcher examines the original scripts that have not been edited by the editor of the newspaper. The samples are taken randomly approximately 70 surat pembaca of both men and women. The researcher only found 30 data of politeness speech. This research in this thesis using a qualitative approach, with non participant observation method. The conclusion to be drawn that the violation of politeness is dominated by male readers letter writer. In addition, author of men are known to be more active than women with a large number of readers sent a letter to the Suara Merdeka daily newspaper.
