Abstract
Spectrophotometry is one method of instrumental analysis using the basic interaction of energy and matter. A spectrophotometer can be used to determine the concentration of a solution through absorption intensity at certain wavelengths. Visible Spectrophotometry is referred to visible spectrophotometry. The definition of visible light is light that can be seen by the human eye. The light that is visible to the human eye is light with a wavelength of 400-800 nm. The green color can be read by a spectrophotometer visible because its wavelength is contained in the range of 595-760 nm. Spinach leaves (Amaranthus) is one kind of leaf vegetables used for consumption. The content of nutrients abundant in spinach leaves make it as vegetables that are beneficial to health. Leaf spinach also contains chlorophyll very many is therefore here to analyze levels of chlorophyll in the leaves of spinach. At this time the chlorophyll content analysis is used leaves of spinach (Amaranthus spinosus) of different ages are young leaves, leaves a half old and mature leaves are extracted first. On the results of experiments and calculations, the results of total chlorophyll content highest in spinach leaves middle age ie 60.988 mg / L, sedangkat on leaves young age of 39.754 mg / L, and leaf age of tau is 45.660 mg / L.
