Abstract
Demineralization is a process for the removal of mineral salts present in water, so the water produced has a high purity. Basically the process is like what is done in water softening through ion exchange process. One element that can be removed by means of demineralization is cobalt. Cobalt is an element that is needed in the body in the right amounts and the element that should not be present in boiler feed water because it will hinder the process of aeration. Cobalt can be removed by passing water containing cobalt in the media and activated carbon filtration. Permitted levels contained in water is 0.01 mg / l Keywords: water demineralization, Cobalt Content
