Abstract

Water spinach leaves contain many of chlorophyll. Because Chlorophyll contains antioxidants, antiinflammatory, so chlorophyll has some health benefits for body. On this practical using SectrophotometerGenesys 20 Visible is based phenomenon Posted ray absorption Certain chemical species in the area is light appears (visible light). For test the color of chlorophyll in the leaves of water spinach used two different solvents are distilled water and ethanol . water spinach leaf solution coupled with solvent distilled water and ethanol in the ratio 1 : 10 , 1 : 20 , 1 : 30 and 1 : 40. Based on observations made most Cleaner chlorophyll obtained by using ethanol solvent obtained concentration of 0.651 ppm , while distilled water only at 0586 ppm . This shows that the ethanol solvent better than distilled water to extraction chlorophyll in the leaves of kale . Keywords: Spectrophotometer, Water Spinach, Chlorophyll content
