PERGESERAN STRUKTUR TEMATIK PADA PENERJEMAHAN PIDATO PRESIDEN BARRACK OBAMA DI UNIVERSITAS INDONESIA

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pergeseran struktur tematik pada pidato presiden Barrack Obama di Universitas Indonesia pada tahun 2010 dan terjemahannya ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Masalah yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi pergeseran penerjemahan struktur tematik, pada teks bahasa Sumber (BSu) dan teks bahasa sasaran (BSa), melihat pola progresi tema pada kedua teks dan menganalisa dampak pola progresi tema tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori yang dikemukakan oleh M.A.K Halliday yaitu Linguistik Fungsional Sistemik (LFS). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif melalui studi pustaka. Metode penelitian dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu klasifikasi data, analisis LFS pada setiap klausa dan diskusi hasil temuan. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan jumlah klausa pada BSu adalah 223 klausa dan pada BSa 214 klausa. Tema pada BSu berjumlah 308 tema yang terdiri dari 220 (71.42%) tema topikal, 78 (25.34%) tema tekstual dan 10 (3.24%) tema interpersonal. Tema pada BSa berjumlah 275 tema yang terdiri dari 219 (79.64%) tema topikal, 51 (18.54%) tema tekstual dan 5 (1.82%) tema interpersonal. Berdasarkan analisis pergeseran struktur tematik pada kedua teks meliputi penghapusan, penambahan dan pergeseran fungsi transitifitas. Pergeseran ini bersifat struktural karena pergeseran tersebut tidak terlalu mengubah makna pada tataran terjemahannya. Pola progresi tema yang paling banyak ditemukan pada kedua teks adalah pola konstan/perulangan. Penggunaan pola ini menunjukan bahwa kedua teks merupakan teks yang kohesif. This research aim to indentify the shift of thematic structure translation in Source Language (SL) and Target Language (TL), to indentify the thematic progression pattern in both texts and its impact. This research uses a theory proposed by M.A.K Halliday, namely Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL). This research is descriptive qualitative. There are three steps in conducting this research. They are data classification, data analysis using SFL and discussion. The findings of this research shows there are 223 clauses in SL and 214 clauses in TL. In SL it is found 308 themes which consist of 220 (71.42%) topical themes, 78 (25.34%) textual themes, and 10 (3.24%) interpersonal themes. In TL it is found 275 which consists 219 (79.64%) topical themes, 51 (18.54%) textual themes and 5 (1.82%) interpersonal themes. The analysis shows that the thematic structure shift in both texts includes deletion, addition and shift of transitivity. The shift considered as structural shift because it does not change the meaning in the translation product. The thematic progression pattern found in both texts is reiteration or constant theme pattern. This pattern shows that the two texts is a cohesive text.
