Abstract

The highest case of pulmonary TB occured in North Semarang, Semarang. Long term of medical treatment of pulmonary TB has success and failure factor depends on it patient or another external factor. Self efficacy believed could improve health behavior, hence influenced health improvement and the quality of life. This research aimed to describe self effcacy of patient with pulmonary TB in north Semarang, Semarang. Design if this research was descriptive survey. Sampling method used was total sampling. Sample of this research was 39 respondents from patients with pulmonary TB. Data collected using quesioner of Self effcacy of patients with pulmonary TB that created based on researcher’s reference, with validity value was 0,799-0,892. The result of this research showed majority of respondent has a good self efficacy with percentage was 79,5% and 20.5% respondent has less self efficacy. Good self efficacy founded in respondent aged 18-40 year old, female, last education was junior high school, not smoking, and worked in flexible lime with salary up to Rp1.420.000,00. The conclusion of this research showed that age did not have influence of self efficacy, did not have any job and low salary caused less self efficacy. It is expected nurse could improved patient’s self efficacy through structured health education about the treatment and establish motivation to patients with pulmonary TB.
