Abstract
Curcuminoid is a compound that is contained in tumeric plant with the main content in the form of curcumin yellow orange. Turmeric farmaers currently experiencing problems in selling the crops due to the unavailability of appropriate technology for farmers to be able to measure the content of curcumin effecttively. Analysis of curcumin is generally done with chromatographic methods which tend to require time and high costs. Therefore, it will be measured levels spectrophotometric curcuminoid based method using spectrophotometer visible. The stages of this research is the collection of samples of tumeric, saffron preparation of the samples taken from various places plant in Central Java, including Semarang, Kudus, Jepara, Pati and Blora. Analysis was done by measuring absorbance and transmitasi where the results are used to determine the absorbance curcuminoid levels in turmeric. The results obtained are curcuminoid levels starch Pati (52,05) – Semarang (32,42) – Blora (29,13) – Jepara (21,68), Kudus (21,60). From this research, the measurement of the highest levels produced by turmeric curcuminoid of Pati. Keyword: turmeric, curcumin, curcuminoid, spectrophotometry, visible spectrophotometer.
