Abstract
Candlenut (Aleurites moluccana) is which one of plants had been using to material oil extraction. Candlenut seeds may content as high as 50-69%. Mayor component of candlenut oil content is less saturated faty acid, however to have saturated faty acid as relative minor. In this research oil extraction using screw preesing methode. The objective of this research is to study the “effect of preheating temperature and screw speeding on oil yield result using screw pressing methode. Screw pressing had been pretreatment consist of tempering. The candlenut seeds are cleaned from impuruties. After that, the candlenut seeds preheated with various temperatures 50oC, 60oC and 70oC. The next step is the pressing operation using screw speeds variously 0 rpm, 175 rpm and 200 rpm. The based on practical work as many as 9 variable have obtains persentation yield the higher candlenut oil is 50,84 % at various preheating temperature 60oC and screw speed 0 rpm. Range of moisture content at 1,99 %. Density of candlenut oil range obtain0,924-0,926 gr/ml. While viscosity the candlenut oil range obtain7,27- 7,82 cp. The range result acid value of candlenut oil1,28-0,70 g KOH/g sample and saponification value 187-195,25 g KOH/g sample. Keywords : Candlenut, Temperature, and Screw Pressing
