The First Advisor Drs. Hermintoyo, M.Pd. The second Advisor Budi Mulyadi, S.Pd.,M.Hum. Shuuzanzu, one of short story byAkutagawaRyuunosuke arepublishedin 1921during his official trip inChina. Thisshort storytells aboutthe beautiful and famouspaintingnamed"Autumn Mountain" by the greatestartists of Yuan Dynasty (Mongol) who called TaChi'ih. The purpose of this research is analyze icons and index to find implicit meaning and message from author.This research is used semiotics of Charles Sanders Pierce to find icons and index. First, the short story read all over again by hermeneutic reading to find icons and index. After classified, there was found 7 icons and 6 index. The results showed implied meaning that Shuuzanzutells about authorexperiencesinChina. The icons suggest that an artistalways be rememberedin the future and long-lasting withtheir works ofcreation.Then from the index suggest that there was nothing eternal beauty, besides the beautyinour minds.
